Der letzte öffentlich bekannte Hauptbetriebsplan für den Tagebau Hambach endete mit dem Jahr 2024. Nichtsdestotrotz läuft der Bagger heute am 1.1.2025 dort weiter. Wird ohne Genehmigung gebaggert oder gibt es eine Genehmigung, die nicht öffentlich gemacht wird, damit nicht dagegen geklagt werden kann?

Seit Ende September haben Aktivist*innen einen Teil des Hambacher Waldes – den Sündenwald bei Manheim – besetzt.
Der Energiekonzern RWE plant den Wald zu roden und das Erdreich abzubaggern um auch ohne Braunkohle noch möglichst viel Profit und Prestige aus dem angrenzenden Tagebauloch herauszuholen.
Vieles deutet auf eine Räumung und Rodung der Fläche Anfang Januar hin.

Die Aktivist*innen stellen sich diesem Vorhaben entschlossen entgegen. Denn eine Rodung des Sündenwalds würde die Biotopvernetzung zwischen Bürgewald und Hambacher Forst unmöglich machen. Damit wird langfristig das letzte Stück Urwald im Hambacher Forst austrocknen und absterben.
Außerdem würden die zerstörerischen Pläne von RWE dafür sorgen, dass Trinkwasser in der Umgebung verseucht wird, die Landschaft durch den Grundwasserverlust zu einer dystopischen Wüste wird, Feinstaubbelastung in umliegenden Städten steigt und Ackerböden degradiert werden.
Dabei sind die Pläne keineswegs alternativlos, es gibt auch nachhaltige und gemeinschwohlorientierte Handlungsmöglichkeiten.
Somit stürzen uns Greenwashing und Profitgier des Großkonzerns uns noch weiter in die Klimakrise.

Larry sagt:“ Das Ökosystem soll erhalten bleiben und der Raubbau an der Natur beendet werden“

Twix hat keine Lust auf gemäßigte Worte und fasst sich kurz: „RWE enteignen. Gegen den finanzialisierten Kapitalismus der Großkonzerne. Nieder mit dem System!“

Die Aktivist*innen fordern, dass dieses uralte Ökosystem erhalten bleibt und die Zukunft des Tagebaulochs nachhaltig, verantwortungsvoll und sicher gestaltet wird.

„Kommt zu uns in den Wald damit die Verbrechen von RWE nicht ungesehen bleibt!“

„The criminal gang of RWE, politicians and police want to illegally clearfell part of the Hambach forest and evict the occupation for that.“ ~ Hilde Sand

The last publicly known main operating plan for the Hambach opencast mine ended in 2024. Nevertheless, the excavator will continue to run there today on January 1, 2025. Is excavation taking place without a permit or is there a permit that is not made public so that no legal action can be taken against it?

Since the end of September, activists have been occupying part of the Hambach Forest – the Sündenwald near Manheim.
The energy company RWE is planning to clear the forest and excavate the soil in order to extract as much profit and prestige as possible from the adjacent open-cast mine, even without lignite.
There are many indications that the area will be cleared at the beginning of January.

The activists are resolutely opposing this plan. Clearing the Sündenwald forest would make the biotope network between Bürgewald and Hambach Forest impossible. In the long term, the last piece of primeval forest in Hambach Forest will dry out and die.
In addition, RWE’s destructive plans would ensure that drinking water in the surrounding area would be contaminated, the landscape would become a dystopian desert due to the loss of groundwater, particulate pollution in surrounding towns would increase and arable land would be degraded.
There is by no means no alternative to these plans; there are also sustainable and public welfare-oriented options for action.
Greenwashing and corporate greed are thus plunging us even further into the climate crisis.

Twix is not in the mood for moderate words and keeps it short: „Expropriate RWE. Against the financialized capitalism of large corporations. Down with the system!“

The activists are calling for this ancient ecosystem to be preserved and for the future of the the hole from  the open-cast mine to be sustainable, responsible and safe.

„Join us in the forest so that RWE’s crimes do not go unseen!“
